Hello! My name is Martha Ann Patterson and I am the Title I Reading Interventionist at AH Bangert. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a degree in Elementary Education and received my masters degree from Old Dominion University in Early Childhood Education. My husband and I have a daughter who is a senior at UNC-Chapel Hill and a son who is a graduate of Duke University and currently a second year medical student at Tufts Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. We are most definitely a House Divided and of course, my favorite color is any shade of BLUE! Both Robbie and Charlotte attended AH Bangert Elementary, HJ MacDonald Middle School and graduated from New Bern High School-GO BEARS!! We also have a very special yellow labrador retriever whose name is Ellie. She is a great pet and keeps us very busy. In my free time I enjoy reading, boating and traveling. I LOVE MY JOB and think I am the luckiest person to be able to work with such a wonderful staff and to teach some of the greatest children in the world. My students brighten my day and I enjoy working with them on improving their reading skills. This is my eighteenth year teaching at Bangert and there's no place I'd rather be!
